Corporate Profile
Marketfeed offers a wide variety of real-time data and applications for financial institutions and websites worldwide.
Serving businesses with innovative market data content and delivery solutions, marketfeed is the premier financial market connection for today's wired world.
Marketfeed data and applications can be specifically tailored to meet your requirements.
Data Content
Our financial content includes all financial instruments trading on seven (7) Stock Exchanges across the country. The main Exchanges are NYSE, AMEX, and NASDQ along with their associated exchanges and markets. Data for instruments traded on these exchanges are managed by DataCode Incorporated's NetFeed System, which marries the data from these exchanges to create a complete database for all seven exchanges.
In addition to delivering all equity issues (Common, OTC, Preferred, and a variety of classes of stock (A, B, etc.)), MarketFeed also delivers exchange-based indices, mutual funds, money market funds, warrants and rights.
In addition, the NetFeed System gathers and applies various imported data fields for the quoted instruments and calculates vital indices and statistics based on prices quoted from the various exchanges to give you a more robust view of exchange traded securities.
Exchanges/Markets
New York Stock Exchange and Associated Markets - Equities
Most of the instruments quoted through the SIAC feeds are based on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Stocks quoted here may also trade on any of the NYSE's associated exchanges or Nasdaq. Stocks whose base exchange is the American Stock Exchange are also quoted on this feed, and usually do not trade on NYSE but may trade on other associated exchanges and Nasdaq.
Symbols for funds traded through NYSE and associated exchanges follow the same rules as stocks.
Marketfeed's offering includes equity quotes that combine updates from all associated exchanges called composite quotes. The Netfeed System also provides Marketfeed with exchange-specific quotes.
To access a composite quote, the stock's base symbol is used. Example: CHV (Chevron Corp).
To access an exchange-specific quote, the stock's base symbol is used along with a dot plus exchange identifier. Example: CHV.B (Chevron Corp traded on the Boston Stock Exchange).
The following are NYSE and AMEX associated exchanges and their exchange identifiers:
- American Stock Exchange .A
- Boston Stock Exchange .B
- Cincinnati Stock Exchange .C
- Midwest Stock Exchange .MW
- Nasdaq trades via SIAC .O
- New York Stock Exchange .N
- Pacific Stock Exchange .P
- Philadelphia Stock Exchange .PH
Prices for stocks traded on the "Emerging Company MarketplaceSM" are published on the SIAC feed. These Emerging Company Marketplace issues are identified by a "/EC" following the symbol. Example: ITC/EC
Other types of equities issued include preferred, warrants, rights, units and classes of stock.
The symbol for preferred shares includes a "p" (lower case). Examples: HNZp and HNZp.N
The symbol for warrants includes a "/" with "WS". Examples: IGL/WS and IGL/WS.N
The symbol for rights includes an "r" (lower case). Examples: TFGr and TFGr.A
The symbols for units includes a "/" with "U". Examples: TLZ/U and TLZ/U.A
The symbol for a class of stock includes the class designation letter, which may be preceded by a "/", if it is not also a preferred share or right. When the share is also a warrant or unit, a "/" precedes both designations. Examples: COC/A and COC/A.N, SLMpA and SLMpA.N, FD/WS/D and FD/WS/D.N
Nasdaq Stock Exchange - Equities
Stocks on the Nasdaq feeds may be quoted from the Nasdaq National Market, the Nasdaq Small Cap Market and the OTC Bulletin Board. Nasdaq assigns stocks on these markets four- or five-character codes. There is no special exchange identifier necessary for any of these stock symbols. Example: INTC (Intel Corporation)
Nasdaq Stock Exchange - Mutual Funds
Mutual funds listed and quoted on Nasdaq have a five-character code ending with "X". These quotes are updated once at the end of each trading day. Example: GABGX (Gabelli Growth Fund)
Nasdaq Stock Exchange - Money Market Funds
Money Market Funds listed and quoted on Nasdaq have a five-character code ending with "XX". Like the Mutual Funds, these quotes are updated once at the end of each trading day. Example: EGMXX (The Evergreen Money Market Trust)
Nasdaq Stock Exchange - Indices
The various indices' symbols quoted through the Nasdaq datafeeds are have a "." appended to the front of the symbol.
Some indices available through Marketfeed are calculated using values from the SIAC and Nasdaq feeds.
Other indices exist which are pertinent to the Equity market. These are quoted, and traded, on futures and options markets. The Netfeed System does not currently support these datafeeds.
